Our first Greening Prep Session was Friday, Nov 8 from 10:00 – 2:00 at the Bay Village Library. Our big crew of helpers got everything done so we don’t need a second session!
If you haven’t done this before here are photos from this year to give you an idea of what’s involved:
Other ways to help with Greening:
Oasis Committee: This committee is responsible for the blocks of oasis used for the boxwood trees, centerpieces and indoor/outdoor arrangement.. The oasis must be soaked and cut on Tuesday morning during setup. Oasis is then put into forms, taped, covered, and stored for the workshops.
Floaters: Happy elves that circulate among our guests to ensure they have all the instruction and materials they need. Help with clean up of tables between each class.
Greens Committee: The Greens Committee prepares the various greens for each class. Volunteers are needed on Tuesday morning to help with cutting of greens and to help distribute greens on Tuesday evening and Wednesday for each class.
Accessories Committee: The Accessories people prepare individual accessories in advance of the workshop. During the workshops they help distribute the accessories for each class session. On Tuesday morning Dec. 3, the accessories will be organized and bagged for each workshop.
Refreshments Committee: Club members are asked to bring cookies or bars or cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, snacks, etc. The Refreshment Committee will make sure that these refreshments are available for the volunteers on Tuesday morning during the set up period and for the workshop participants on Tuesday evening and Wednesday. They will help to make and have beverages available, arrange food, and replenish trays.
Clean Up Volunteers: At the end of our last Workshop everyone is tired and would like to go home. We need a few volunteers starting at 1:00 on Wednesday Dec 4 who are fresh and ready to help sweep floors, pack boxes, remove signs, etc. We are hoping to be done by 4:00 p.m.
